Job summary

HNTB is seeking current or former interns for a field inspection role on infrastructure projects. You will perform daily inspections, document work, and review discrepancies with Field Engineer on smaller, standard projects.

Responsibilities include observing contractor work, performing standard calculations, maintaining daily logs, on-site material testing, and generating sketches. Requires a high school diploma or GED with 3 years construction experience, and relevant state certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 3 years of construction related experience.
• All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Observes, documents, and verifies work in progress by the construction contractor to ensure compliance with contract documents and plans.
• Utilizes engineering inspection practices to perform standard mathematical calculations and measurements of completed work to date.
• Maintains Inspector's daily report of assigned work activities, contactor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified.
• Performs on-site material testing and produces as-constructed sketches as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
