Job summary

Terracon is seeking a Construction Inspector to perform daily inspection of construction projects, ensuring quality and conformance to codes, drawings, and specifications in Williamsburg, VA. The role involves field testing, reporting, and collaboration with engineers and project teams.

Eligible candidates will have a high school diploma (associates preferred), 2–4 years in engineering tech or inspection, and relevant safety certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Engineering Technology preferred.
• Minimum 2-4 years' experience as an Engineering Technician or similar role.
• 1 year experience in construction inspection preferred.
• A valid driver's license with acceptable violations may be required.
• Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
• NICET/ICC/AWS/ASNT/ACI certifications listed may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing, observation, and inspection as directed in accordance with training and procedures.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
• Performs basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before submittal to the Project Manager.
• Communicates information to Project Manager and other personnel.
• Draft inspection reports for review by senior inspector and/or Project Managers.
• May assist more senior inspectors on projects.
• Maintains equipment and calibration.
• Follows safety rules and practices and reports any safety issues or concerns.
