Job summary

Terracon is seeking Construction Inspectors to perform on-site inspection across disciplines such as structural steel, concrete, masonry and fireproofing. You will inspect, test, document findings, prepare reports, and coordinate with engineers and project managers while upholding safety standards.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, an associate degree preferred, 4–6 years of construction inspection experience, a valid driver's license, internal safety certifications, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology preferred.
• Minimum 4-6 years’ experience in construction inspection.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.
• Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
• At least four or more certifications in NICET, ICC, AWS, ASNT, ACI areas including concrete testing and radiation safety.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing, observation, and inspection as directed to determine compliance with contract specifications.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
• Prepare inspection reports and document nonconformance.
• Performs basic analysis of data and communicates results to the Project Manager.
• May interact with client and site personnel to resolve findings.
• Coordinate pre-dispatch activities with Project, Department, and/or Office Managers.
• Maintains equipment operation and calibration.
• Lead, provide direction and may coordinate activities of lower level inspectors.
• Performs advanced fieldwork and assists with project management.
• Follow safety rules and report issues to management.
