Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Construction Representative to inspect and document infrastructure projects including road, water main, and sewer construction while assisting in managing client relationships.

You will review budgets and schedules, perform field observations, maintain a field book, and prepare daily reports. A BS in Civil or Construction Engineering is required; DOT experience is preferred, with recent grads encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Construction Engineering or related curriculum is required; EIT preferred.
• 0-5 years of working experience with DOT is preferred; recent grads encouraged to apply.
• Experience with field projects is desirable; ArcGIS, MicroStation, Geopak, or AutoCAD helpful.
• Excellent communication and intrapersonal skills; strong organization to meet budgets/schedules.

Responsibilities

• Review and assure project supervisor of budget and schedule adequacy.
• Perform construction observation and follow project procedures.
• Maintain a field book and perform measurements for pay items.
• Prepare Inspector’s Daily Reports and other project documentation.
• Report progress and any deficiencies to the project supervisor.
• Review plans, specs, and submittals; provide design or other support to project managers.
