Job summary

Alfred Benesch & Company is seeking a Construction Representative to inspect infrastructure projects, manage field documentation, and support project managers. You will work on road, water main, and sewer construction, contributing to project budgets, schedules, and client relationships.

The role requires a BS in Civil or Construction Engineering, 0–5 years DOT experience preferred, and the ability to work independently or in a team with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Construction Engineering or related engineering curriculum; EIT preferred.
• 0–5 years of DOT experience preferred; recent grads encouraged to apply.
• Field project experience is desirable.
• Experience using ArcGIS, MicroStation, Geopak and/or AutoCAD is desirable.
• Excellent communication and intrapersonal skills; strong organizational ability.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Review project budgets and schedules with the supervisor.
• Observe construction activities and follow project procedures.
• Maintain field notes and prepare daily inspection reports.
• Measure work, calculate pay items, and document progress.
• Report progress and issues to the project supervisor.
• Review plans, specs, and submittals for assigned work.
• Provide design or professional assistance to project managers.
• Maintain company vehicle and equipment on site.
