Job summary

Kennametal is seeking talented machinists and programmers transitioning to a professional sales role. This field sales and application engineer position drives metal-cutting tool sales growth by managing customer relationships, providing technical direction, and increasing productivity for customers.

The role is home-based within the territory but primarily field-facing, with occasional overnight travel and a company vehicle provided.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or degree in Business, Manufacturing or Engineering preferred.
• 3+ years of CNC machining industry experience.
• 1-2 years of technical sales and/or application experience preferred.
• Proficient in product knowledge, including applications and troubleshooting.
• Solid grasp of industry dynamics; aligns product solutions with customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed revenue targets by providing metal-cutting solutions.
• Generate, qualify and manage sales leads and new customer accounts.
• Proactively manage the complete sales process from prospecting to closing.
• Develop and execute strategic territory plans to deliver revenue goals.
• Provide timely answers to pre-sales technical and commercial queries.
• Maintain up-to-date customer and project records in CRM.
• Collaborate with internal teams to provide end-to-end customer experience.
• Conduct pre-sales workshops, webinars, and onsite events in the territory.
• Represent Kennametal at tradeshows and conferences within the territory.
