Job summary

DRMP's Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) division is hiring Transportation Technicians/CEI Inspectors (all levels) to join our team in the Raleigh area, with a home office assignment in the Kinston region. Inspectors perform field surveying, construction layout, and testing, while maintaining daily field logs and documentation.

Qualifications include a high school diploma with 4+ years of roadway/bridge inspection and an AAS in Civil Engineering Technology, plus relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 4+ years of roadway or bridge construction inspection experience.
• AAS Civil Engineering Technology with 2+ years experience, including at least 1 year roadway inspection experience.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving history.

Responsibilities

• Daily documentation of the contractor's work efforts.
• Project field book preparation and documentation.
• Density log book preparation and documentation.
• Material sampling and testing.
• Assisting with preparation of the Final Estimates package.
• Measures distances to verify the accuracy of dimensions of construction activity/layout.
• Verifies levels, alignment, and elevation of construction activity/installations.
• Observe work in progress to ensure procedures followed and materials conform to specifications.
• Obtains and prepares material samples for laboratory testing.
• Examines workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standards and accepts installation.
• Records quantities of materials received or used during specified periods.
• Maintains daily log of construction and inspection activities.
