Job summary

CDM Smith's CEI team is seeking a construction inspector to perform complex and routine inspections at project sites across multiple locations. The role focuses on ensuring materials, methods and compliance with plans and specifications on highway projects.

The successful candidate will read and interpret drawings, apply computing techniques, and communicate findings to supervisors. Travel 20–40% may be required; on-site work is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• ACI/NICET earthwork/asphalt/concrete certifications if required.
• Valid driver's license.
• 12 years related experience; may substitute with equivalent experience.
• Domestic/international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections to verify materials and workmanship meet plans and specs.
• Use advanced equipment and perform calculations for inspections.
• Work under supervision appropriate to knowledge for the assignment.
• Review drawings to prepare for construction inspections.
• Document and communicate inspection results to the supervisor.
