Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Inspector to perform complex and routine inspections at project sites in multiple locations. This on-site role requires knowledge of roadway, bridge, drainage, erosion control, and maintenance and traffic inspection practices.

You will read plans, verify materials, document findings, and communicate effectively with the supervisor. Travel of 20%–40% may be required; a valid driver’s license is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or NICET/ACI when required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 6 years of related experience.
• Equivalent related experience may substitute for a degree.
• Travel may be required; travel frequency varies by project.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections to verify materials and processes meet plans and specs.
• Use appropriate equipment and perform calculations for inspections.
• Work under supervision appropriate to demonstrated knowledge.
• Review drawings to prepare for inspection.
• Document results and communicate findings to supervisor.
