Job summary

CDM Smith's CEI team is seeking a candidate to inspect and monitor construction activities at the project site(s). Inspector must be able to perform the most complex inspection activities for at least 2 of the 5 categories of construction inspection: roadway, bridges, drainage, erosion & control, maintenance & traffic.

Work will require knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in highway construction; ability to read, interpret and explain construction plans and drawings,

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certifications from ACI or NICET may be required by the client or jurisdiction.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• 12 years of related experience; equivalent additional experience considered in lieu of a degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections to ensure materials and processes meet plans and specs.
• Use higher-grade equipment and perform complex calculations for inspection.
• Work under supervision appropriate to demonstrated knowledge.
• Review drawings to prepare for construction inspection.
• Document results and communicate with the supervisor.
