Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an on-site Inspector to support the CEI team across multiple project locations. You will inspect and monitor construction activities, assess materials and methods, and ensure conformance with plans and specifications. The role requires reading drawings, reporting results, and guiding junior staff on complex tasks.

The position involves frequent site work, travel (20–40%), and collaboration with supervision to ensure project success and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel 20–40%.
• 12 years of related construction inspection experience.
• ACI or NICET certifications as required by client/jurisdiction.
• Ability to read/interpret construction plans and specs.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections of roadway, bridges, drainage, erosion control, and maintenance/traffic.
• Review drawings and prepare for inspections.
• Document inspection results and communicate to supervisor.
• Lead and instruct junior inspectors.
• Travel to project sites as required.
