Job summary

CDM Smith's CEI team seeks a candidate to inspect and monitor highway construction at project sites. The inspector must independently perform complex inspections in at least two categories and read and explain plans, specs, and contract provisions.

This on-site role emphasizes documentation and communication of results, with travel and a valid driver’s license required to support assignments across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• ACI or NICET certifications in earthwork, asphalt, concrete may be required by client.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections to ensure materials and construction meet plans and specs.
• Use equipment and perform calculations for construction inspection.
• Work with limited or direct supervision based on knowledge.
• Review drawings to prepare inspections.
• Document and communicate inspection results to supervisor.
