Job summary

Ascendis Pharma seeks a field-based Patient Access Liaison to educate patients and caregivers on access, insurance, and reimbursement for ASCENDIS therapies. You will collaborate with clinical teams to ensure timely initiation and safe administration, with a focus on pediatric and adult education and advocacy.

The role requires strong communication, HIPAA awareness, and the ability to work across functions both in home visits and clinical settings. Up to 50% travel is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years in direct patient support.
• Clear ability to explain disease state, product, and access concepts to consumers.
• Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and FDA requirements is preferred.
• Experience educating patients and caregivers on injectable products and reimbursement obstacles.
• Ability to work autonomously in a team and communicate across functions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for patients and caregivers for education on disease state and access to Ascendis products.
• Develop and maintain relationships with patients and caregivers through in-person and virtual interactions.
• Assess patient needs and create an action plan empowering patient advocacy and adherence.
• Educate patients on insurance coverage and the process to obtain therapy.
• Provide medication administration education once coverage is established.
