Job summary

WM (Waste Management) is seeking an Operations Manager who will onboard, develop, coach, mentor and manage a team of drivers and helpers. The role spends most days in the field with frontline staff and serves as the first level of management for the operations team.

The position begins early, around 4:30am, with responsibility for safety, performance improvements, and regulatory documentation. The candidate will oversee 15-20 drivers and coordinate with customers and sites.

Qualifications

• Requires strong coaching and leadership capabilities.
• Experience in frontline team development and performance management.
• Strong communication skills for daily touchpoints with frontline staff.
• Safety-focused leadership with adherence to applicable regulations.
• Willingness to spend majority of time in field with frontline employees.

Responsibilities

• Onboard, develop, coach, mentor and manage drivers and helpers.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with front-line employees.
• Spend majority of time in the field with frontline team.
• Lead safety practices and WM Way training.
• Conduct root cause investigations for injuries/incidents and document records.
