Job summary

WM (Waste Management) is seeking a Senior Route Manager responsible for onboarding, developing, coaching, mentoring and performance management of all drivers and helpers. The role spends most days in the field with frontline employees and maintains positive relationships across teams.

Key duties include onboarding new route managers, ensuring frontline tools and feedback, coaching for performance, safety leadership, root-cause investigations for injuries, and DOT recordkeeping.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree (accredited) or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and two years of relevant work experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid Driver's License Upon Hire.

Responsibilities

• Onboarding: New Route Managers; ensure frontline employees have tools, instruction, and feedback.
• Developing: provide timely touchpoints and review best practices to improve daily performance.
• Coaching: identify improvement opportunities and support continued success.
• Mentoring: lead by example, emphasize safety and WM Way.
• Performance Management: conduct root-cause investigations for injuries; document per DOT; review DVIRs, driver time/attendance, open tickets daily.
• Visit customers/sites to evaluate safety and seek service alternatives.
