Job summary

Collaborative-Support-Programs (CSPNJ) in New Jersey seeks a full-time Support Worker to provide direct support and skill development to residents with psychiatric or substance use challenges. You will work primarily in the field (70-80%) meeting service plan goals and documenting progress notes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in a mental health field; alternatively, HS diploma with 3+ years of related experience.
• Ability to prepare clear, timely, and accurate progress notes in line with regulatory requirements.
• Ability to support daily living tasks and domestic responsibilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Patience, emotional resilience, and calm under pressure.
• Ability to manage multiple residents and prioritize tasks.
• Proficient with MS Office and general computer literacy.
• Empathy and trauma-informed approach when engaging with residents.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
• NJ Driver’s License with acceptable driving record required.
• Lived experience valued by CSPNJ.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and skill development to residents in field (70-80%).
• Meet residents on service plans and assess needs; document progress notes.
• Link residents to community resources including housing, healthcare, employment, education, and social services.
• Advocate for residents and promote independence and self-advocacy.
• Collaborate with community organizations and service providers.
• Rotate weekends on call with added compensation.
