Job summary

Arizona Public Service (APS) is seeking a skilled project-oriented professional to serve as liaison with customers and coordinate resources for construction/maintenance projects. You will oversee material orders, design simple projects, and lead multiple projects from field sites, with a focus on safety and on-time completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 2 years journeyman electrician experience or a related degree with 2 years in construction/engineering/maintenance.
• OR 7 years combined education/experience in construction, engineering, operations, or maintenance in utility or related industry.
• Some roles may require RG (rubber glove) practices and familiarity with APS standards and OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Serve as customer liaison to ensure requirements are understood and met timely.
• Coordinate resources for construction projects and track contract budgets.
• Order materials with 2–3 day lead time to keep crews stocked.
• Oversee garage activities, inspections, and maintain vehicle records.
• Perform simple design duties and provide cost estimates for time/materials.
• Support safe, efficient operation of sub-transmission and distribution systems during callouts.
• Resolve differences using open communication and policy interpretation.
• Act as environmental issues contact and train staff on safety and regulatory compliance.
• Inspect trenches/panels and coordinate warehouse/haulage to ensure timely deliveries.
• Promote safety and implement safe work procedures across the team.
• Conduct inspections and maintain department documents as needed.
