Qualifications

• Candidates may have 4 years general work experience or a bachelor's degree.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance; active clearance preferred.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Daily travel locally and outside of primary work area as needed.
• Home office required.
• TDY travel 14–30 days may be required.
• Must reside within the mileage requirement posted in job description.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required; driving is essential.
• Must type 40+ WPM and report information accurately in government systems.
• Proficient grammar and writing skills; maintain confidentiality and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Complete a 6-7 week full-time Investigator training to be certified in Federal Investigative Standards.
• Travel daily to conduct in-person background investigations for government access decisions.
• Schedule and conduct face-to-face interviews with subjects, neighbors, employers, and others.
• Perform records searches at police, courthouses, educational and financial institutions, and health facilities.
• Type and report all obtained information clearly in government systems.
• Work independently while being part of a team with a Field Manager.
