Job summary

Peraton is seeking a full-time background investigator near Joplin, MO. Applicants must reside within 50 miles of the city center and be able to obtain a Top Secret eligible clearance. The role requires daily local travel and in-person interviews for government background investigations.

You will complete a 6-7 week training, conduct record searches, and prepare concise reports in a government system while working both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret eligible clearance.
• Daily travel locally and outside the primary work area as needed.
• Home office required and access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Complete a full-time 6-7 week training to be certified in Federal Investigative Standards.
• Travel daily for in-person background investigations to assess employment suitability.
• Schedule and conduct face-to-face interviews with subjects and references.
• Perform record searches at police, court, educational and financial institutions.
• Type and report information in a clear government system.
• Work independently within a team of Investigators and with a Field Manager.
