Job summary

Peraton is seeking a full-time background investigator near Albany, GA. You will train for 6-7 weeks and conduct investigations to determine employment suitability for individuals requiring access to sensitive U.S. Government information.

Daily local travel is required for in-person investigations. You will interview subjects, search records, and report findings in a government system, while working both independently and as part of a team under a Field Manager.

Qualifications

• 4 years of general work experience or a bachelor’s degree.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Complete a 6-7 week new Investigator training to be certified in Federal Investigative Standards.
• Travel daily to conduct in-person investigations for employment suitability of personnel with access to sensitive information.
• Schedule and conduct face-to-face interviews with subjects, neighbors, employers, friends and family.
• Perform record searches at police, court, educational and financial institutions, and health facilities.
• Type and report all obtained information clearly in a government system.
• Work independently while collaborating with a team of Investigators and a Field Manager.
