Qualifications

• 4 years of general work experience or a bachelor’s degree; federal background investigation experience preferred.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance; active Top Secret clearance preferred.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Daily local travel and possible extended TDYs are required.
• Home office required; driving is essential with insurance kept current.

Responsibilities

• Complete 6-7 week training to be certified in Federal Investigative Standards.
• Travel daily for in-person background investigations to assess employment suitability.
• Schedule and conduct face-to-face interviews with subjects and references.
• Perform record searches at police, court, and education facilities as needed.
• Prepare clear reports in a government computer system.
• Work independently within a team and under a Field Manager.
