The City of Naples is seeking a Water Meter Technician to inspect, test, repair and maintain commercial and domestic water meters and backflow prevention assemblies for the City's utilities functions. The role involves scheduling tests, operating specialized testing equipment, and providing customer support.

Ideal candidates hold a Florida Class B CDL and Level 3 Backflow Tester certification, with experience in meter testing and data entry.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED with 3 years of experience or equivalent.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Class B CDL.
• Must possess Level 3 Water Distribution and Backflow Prevention Tester certification.

Responsabilités

• Inspect, test, repair and maintain water meters and backflow prevention assemblies.
• Schedule and test backflow devices and meters; install hydrant/jumper meter assemblies.
• Maintain data and files; enter test results; prepare reports on meter accuracy evaluations.
• Respond to customer inquiries and investigate billing/consumption disputes.
• Operate testing equipment and maintain tools used in field/testing work.
• Instruct and assist other department personnel as needed.
• Enter and retrieve data using PC software (Word, Excel, Access, Internet).
