Collier County is seeking a Water Distribution Maintenance Worker to perform specialized maintenance in the Public Utilities Department, including meter work, water utilities service, and backflow device repairs.

The role requires after-hours on-call, inventory monitoring, documentation, and compliance with licenses such as Florida Driver's License, Backflow Prevention Certification, and Class 3 Water Distribution System Operator License.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Class 3 Water Distribution System Operator License preferred/required within 18 months.
• Backflow Prevention Testing & Assembly certification required within 6 months.
• Florida Driver's License with applicable endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Performs specialized maintenance on meters and water utilities.
• Repairs or replaces valves; conducts cross-connection inspections.
• Responds to after-hours emergencies on-call; orders parts as needed.
• Operates utility trucks/equipment; maintains tools and inventory.
• Prepares forms, logs, work orders, and maintenance records.
• Maintains knowledge of applicable laws, attends trainings.
