Job summary

City of Brooksville is seeking a technical employee to install, repair, and read water and sewer meters, respond to customer inquiries, and perform emergency repairs as needed. This essential role may require after-hours callouts and work during severe weather events.

Responsibilities include meter installation/removal, maintaining records, investigating service problems, and working with others to complete water/sewer projects under supervisor direction.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of metering devices and related safety practices.
• Ability to read, comprehend and write in English; communicate by radio/phone.
• Willingness to work varying hours including nights/weekends.
• Ability to walk and perform duties in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Read meters and record consumption manually and electronically.
• Install or remove water/sewer meters; maintain meters and valves.
• Repair and assist in water/sewer line maintenance and repairs.
• Respond to customer inquiries and complaints; document actions.
• Follow written work orders; work with others on installations and repairs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor; support emergency operations.
