Job summary

SMC Corporation is seeking an Application Specialist to provide technical expertise and guidance to customers implementing industrial automation solutions. You will work with clients to optimize processes, design and configure automation systems, and lead training for engineering and operations teams.

The role involves regular travel within the territory, collaboration with internal teams, and staying current with industry trends and new SMC products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Advanced industrial automation product knowledge with SMC or equivalent.
• Experience with competitive products and applications.
• Proven ability to apply and implement high-tech SMC products.
• Extensive SMC application knowledge or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience with a range of manufacturing processes: packaging, electronics, food, chemical, automotive and medical.
• Pneumatic specialist certification preferred.
• Proficient in CRM and able to learn new tools.
• Clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Support customers in the assigned territory with automation solutions.
• Identify and close major revenue-producing projects.
• Engage key accounts and understand buying influences and technical requirements.
• Relay customer needs to engineering/product specialists accurately.
• Provide training to sales, customers, and distributors on products and applications.
• Deliver workshops and training sessions to client teams on automation systems.
