Job summary

Progressive is hiring an auto damage claims adjuster to serve as the main contact for customers, directing repair processes from start to finish. You will manage your own inventory, work with body shops, and negotiate pricing while ensuring liability is assessed with care.

This field position may require occasional office visits and travel within your geographic area; a company car is provided to support travel within the San Francisco Bay Area and surrounding communities.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant work experience with one year appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience.
• Associate's degree + 3 years relevant experience with one year appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience.
• Bachelor's degree + 1 year appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience.
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and compliance with Progressive’s driving standards.

Responsibilities

• Complete vehicle inspections, write estimates, determine total loss evaluations, and set clear expectations and timelines.
• Negotiate repair process with body shops.
• Document information related to the claim and make decisions consistent with claims standards and local laws.
• Evaluate and handle claim payments and resolution of claims without payments.
• Review and determine validity of any supplement requests.
