Job summary

Progressive is seeking a field auto damage claims adjuster to serve as the main contact with customers, directing the repair process from start to finish. You will manage your own inventory and collaborate with body shops to negotiate pricing and assess liability, with strong attention to detail and customer service.

The role is field-based with a company car and potential reporting to an office. You must reside in the San Francisco Bay Area (San Mateo, Daly City, Brisbane, South San Francisco,

Qualifications

• Four years minimum experience in insurance or appraisal/estimatics, with at least one year in appraisal/estimatics or insurance.
• Associate's degree plus three years of relevant experience, with one year in appraisal/estimatics or insurance.
• Bachelor's degree plus one year in appraisal/estimatics or insurance.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance; compliant with Progressive driving standards.

Responsibilities

• Complete vehicle inspections, write estimates, determine total loss evaluations, and set expectations and timelines.
• Negotiate repair process with body shops and document claim information.
• Evaluate claim payments and ensure compliance with standards and laws.
• Review supplement requests and determine validity.
