Job summary

Progressive is seeking an Auto Damage Claims Adjuster for a field position in the San Jose area. The role involves inspecting vehicles, writing estimates, and guiding repairs, with a company car and frequent travel within the assigned region.

You will work largely independently, coordinate with body shops, and ensure claims decisions comply with standards and local laws. A strong service focus and detail orientation are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include 4 years of relevant work experience with 1 year appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience.
• Alternate: Associate’s degree with 3 years of relevant work + 1 year appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience.
• Alternate: Bachelor’s degree with 1 year appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience.
• Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and compliance with Progressive driving standards.

Responsibilities

• Complete vehicle inspections, write estimates, determine total loss evaluations, and set clear expectations and timelines.
• Negotiate repair process with body shops.
• Document information related to the claim and make decisions consistent with claims standards and local laws.
• Evaluate and handle claim payments and resolution of claims without payments.
• Review and determine validity of any supplement requests.
