Job summary

GAI Consultants Inc. is seeking a Cultural Resources Technician 2 to support field projects across the Southwestern region. You will identify, excavate, and record sites, wash artifacts, and assist laboratory tasks in line with federal and state archaeology standards. Travel and physical work are required.

Ideal candidates hold a BA/BS in archaeology or anthropology, 1–3 years CRM experience, strong communication skills, and willingness to travel across multiple states in the Southwest.

Qualifications

• B.A./B.S. in Anthropology/Archaeology or related field; field school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow health and safety policies per GAI, client, and OSHA.
• Excavate, screen, and collect archaeological materials per federal/state standards.
• Identify and record archaeological features and structures within project areas.
• Accurately document and map survey areas, testing locations, excavations, and observable resources.
• Complete field forms (paper/electronic).
• Record soil color and type using a Munsell soil chart.
