Job summary

GAI Consultants Inc. is seeking a Cultural Resources Technician 2 to support field projects across the Southwestern region. You will identify, excavate, and record sites, process artifacts for lab analysis, and assist with laboratory tasks following federal/state standards.

Travel and pre-employment drug testing are required. Key duties include excavating, mapping, data recording, and working outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• B.A./B.S. degree in Archaeology/Anthropology or related field (field school preferred).
• 1–3 years CRM experience in North America preferred.
• Willingness to travel (required) with independent transportation preferred.
• Experience in archaeological field techniques, recording, mapping, surveying.

Responsibilities

• Excavate, screen, and collect archaeological materials per federal/state standards.
• Identify and record features and structures within project areas.
• Document and map survey areas, testing locations, excavations, and resources.
• Record soil color using Munsell chart; complete field forms.
