Job summary

GAI Consultants Inc. seeks a Cultural Resources Technician 2 to support field projects across the Southwestern region, including Texas. You will identify, excavate, record potential sites, and assist with lab tasks following federal/state standards.

Travel required and pre-employment drug testing is part of opportunities. Responsibilities include excavation, screening, documentation, mapping, and site surveying, with a focus on field safety and data quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Archaeology/Anthropology or related field.
• CRM experience in North America preferred (1–3 years).
• Willingness to travel and have independent transportation.

Responsibilities

• Identify, excavate, and record potential sites following standards.
• Maintain field notes, maps, and forms accurately.
• Excavate, screen, and collect artifacts per regulations.
• Record soil color/type using Munsell chart and map survey areas.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and walk 8–10 miles daily.
