Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. seeks a Cultural Resources Technician 2 to support field projects across the Southwestern region. You will identify, excavate, and record potential sites, wash artifacts, and assist with lab tasks in line with federal and state standards. Travel to Phase I–III projects is expected.

The role requires field experience in CRM, strong communication, and willingness to travel; pre-employment drug testing is required and duties span field and lab activities.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to travel (required).
• Experience in archaeological field excavation techniques, artifact identification, data recording, mapping, and surveying.

Responsibilities

• Follow health and safety policies as specified by GAI and OSHA.
• Excavate, screen, and collect archaeological materials following standards.
• Identify and record archaeological features and structures within project areas.
• Document and map survey areas, testing locations, excavations, and observable resources.
• Complete field forms and record soil color using a soil chart.
• Use a compass for basic navigation within project vicinity.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and carry gear.
