Job summary

OmniAb, headquartered in Emeryville, seeks a Field Application Scientist to be a trusted technical partner for biotech, pharma, and academic customers. You will deliver pre- and post-sales scientific support for the xPloration platform, lead demos and trainings, troubleshoot, and help expand workflows with internal teams, while traveling up to 75%.

The role reports to the Senior Field Application Scientist and requires hands-on assay development, high-throughput screening, and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Bioengineering, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or related field; 5+ years in industry.
• MSc in a relevant field with 2+ years of industry experience.
• Proven customer-facing scientific role delivering trainings, demos, troubleshooting.
• Hands-on mammalian cell culture, cell-based assays, high-throughput screening, flow cytometry or imaging-based analysis.
• Excellent communication and teaching skills; travel up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Plan on-site and virtual demos and evaluations with Sales team.
• Lead customer onboarding and training; setup workflows and design guidance.
• Provide expert scientific support and troubleshooting with professionalism.
• Develop enablement tools: protocols, SOPs, training decks, datasets.
• Execute validated solutions to improve xPloration workflows and performance.
• Capture and communicate customer feedback to Sales, Product, and R&D.
• Maintain thorough documentation and CRM records.
• Educate customers on screening technology benefits and applications.
• Represent OmniAb at customer sites and conferences.
• Other duties as required.
