QP Group is seeking a Field Application Specialist for a fast-growing software company serving life sciences labs. You will partner with sales to run technical discovery calls, craft demos based on each customer’s instruments and data, and define implementation scope after deals close.
On onboarding, you will train scientists, lab managers, and quality staff to use the platform in their daily work, handling live demos with confidence and adapting when plans shift.
We're partnered with a fast-growing software company serving the life sciences and diagnostics space. Their platform brings together laboratory data, samples, instruments, and quality processes so that labs can move away from spreadsheets, manual data entry, and disconnected systems. Customers include high-throughput biotech companies, contract research organizations, and regulated diagnostics labs. Rather than leading with a product pitch, their team spends time up front understanding how a customer's lab actually operates day to day, so that what gets deployed genuinely fits the way scientists work.
Our client needs a scientist who can sit down with a laboratory team, understand how their analytical workflow really runs, and turn that understanding into a working software solution, one they can then demonstrate credibly to bench scientists, lab directors, and IT leaders alike. As a Field Application Specialist, you'll be involved from the earliest sales conversations through to the customer's first few months live on the platform. You'll partner with the sales team to run technical discovery calls, build and deliver demonstrations tailored to each customer's actual instruments and data, and then help scope what implementation will involve once a deal closes. Once onboard, you'll train the customer's scientists, lab managers, and quality staff on how to use the system in their own day-to-day work. This isn't a role for someone who just clicks through a standard demo script. You need to be able to hold your own scientifically with a room full of chemists, adapt on the fly when a conversation takes an unexpected turn, and be comfortable configuring the software live in front of a customer.
Run technical and scientific discovery sessions with prospective customers, mapping how samples, instruments, and data actually flow through their lab. Build and deliver demonstrations using the customer's own workflows and data, not generic examples. Turn discovery findings into a clear implementation plan, working closely with the delivery and customer success teams. Train customer teams, scientists, lab managers, administrators, and quality staff, on how to use the platform in practice. Stay closely involved through the customer's early months live, helping troubleshoot workflow questions as they come up. Build a library of reusable demo setups and training materials based on common lab scenarios you encounter.
MSc, PhD, or equivalent hands-on laboratory experience in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or a related discipline.
