Job summary

Management Performance Associates seeks an Electrical Application Engineer to solve complex technical problems, directly engage with customers, and turn challenges into practical engineered solutions on the plant floor.

This role sits at the intersection of engineering, sales, product development, and customer support, requiring hands-on design, installation, testing, and training across industrial environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 5+ years of technical field, applications engineering, or similar hands-on engineering experience.
• Experience in oil & gas, mining, power generation, heavy industrial environments.
• Familiarity with sensor technologies and industrial monitoring systems.
• Knowledge of Modbus, 4–20mA, relay logic and other common industrial protocols.
• Understanding of hazardous locations, classifications, and equipment ratings.

Responsibilities

• Develop expertise in company products, technologies, and applications across industrial markets.
• Partner with sales to understand customer requirements and propose the right technical solution.
• Translate customer needs into manufacturable system and product solutions.
• Configure standard products and systems for application-specific requirements.
• Design customized solutions using internal products and third-party technologies.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyses to support recommendations.
• Serve as a primary technical contact during sales and implementation.
• Communicate product capabilities and technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Create application drawings, specs, and training materials.
• Support system design, testing, validation, installation, and startup activities.
• Troubleshoot equipment and field issues, including remote support.
• Provide engineering training to customers and sales teams.
• Test equipment to verify performance against specs.
• Provide feedback to engineering teams on product performance and field issues.
• Assist in design and development of new products and enhancements.
• Coordinate external engineering resources when needed.
• Join customer visits and technical presentations.
