Job summary

ExcelliSearch, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Application Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and working directly with customers across industrial markets.

This role sits at the intersection of engineering, sales, product development, and the customer, supporting from concept through installation and startup. You will develop deep product expertise, translate customer needs into practical solutions, and communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or closely related discipline.
• 5+ years of technical field, applications engineering, or similar hands‑on engineering experience.
• Experience in oil & gas, mining, power generation, heavy industrial, or similar environments.
• Familiarity with sensor technologies, industrial monitoring systems, electronics, and network communications.
• Working knowledge of industrial communication and control protocols (Modbus, 4–20mA, Relay logic).
• Understanding of hazardous locations, classifications, and equipment ratings.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical information for customers and non-technical users.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep expertise in the company's products and applications across industrial markets.
• Partner with sales to understand customer requirements and recommend technical solutions.
• Translate customer needs into manufacturable system and product solutions.
• Configure standard products and systems for application-specific requirements.
• Design customized solutions incorporating internal and third‑party technologies.
• Perform engineering calculations and technical analysis to support product selection.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers throughout the sales and implementation process.
• Communicate product capabilities and technical concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Create application drawings, specifications, and training materials.
• Support system design, testing, installation, and startup activities.
• Troubleshoot equipment and field issues via on‑site, phone, or electronic support.
• Provide technical training to customers, sales teams, and stakeholders.
• Test new and existing equipment to verify performance.
• Feedback product performance and customer requirements to engineering teams.
• Participate in design and development of new products and enhancements.
• Coordinate outside engineering resources when needed.
• Accompany sales on customer visits and in technical calls.
• Support responses to RFIs and RFQs.
