Field Application Engineer (Liberty Robotics)

Liberty Robotics provides 3D volumetric vision guidance systems for robot applications, enhancing manufacturing, material/part handling, and logistics in industrial environments. They aim to onboard individuals who envision faster, safer, and more flexible manufacturing processes, focusing on robotics within automation, assembly, and warehouse industries.

Role Overview

We seek a skilled Field Application Engineer to install, service, and support our advanced machine vision solutions in automotive assembly plants and similar settings. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver with mechanical and computer skills, interested in travel, independence, and delivering quality work.

Responsibilities

• Install and service 3D machine vision systems in manufacturing environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on-site and remotely.
• Support product assembly, maintenance, testing, and administrative tasks at our main office.
• Learn to operate industrial 6-axis robots.
• Travel approximately 50% across the U.S., Mexico, and Canada, including occasional weekends and holidays.
• Complete technical documentation and field reports accurately and promptly.
• Provide customer support and technical training to ensure equipment performance.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve products and customer experience.

Qualifications

• Experience with robotics, controls, sensors, or factory automation.
• Knowledge of electronics, cable routing, camera settings, and optical physics.
• Technical writing and field service/customer support experience.
• Manufacturing experience, especially in automotive, is a plus.
• Experience with machine vision or infrared technologies is an asset.
• Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics, or similar) is preferred.
• Authorized to work in the U.S., with a valid driver’s license and clean record.
• Ability to travel 50%, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work independently, manage time, and handle customer interactions professionally.
