Construction Material Testing is seeking a 3D scanning technician to operate handheld scanners on diverse site projects, from rebar mats to complex machinery parts. You will capture, process, and deliver scan data and CAD-ready files for client use.

The role requires hands-on scanner experience, CAD reading ability, and a valid driver’s license. Expect travel to regional hubs and plant locations with competitive hourly pay and overtime.

Formación

• Hands-on experience operating handheld scanners on real projects.
• Working knowledge of Artec Studio or comparable scan-processing software; mesh cleanup, registration, and export.
• Familiarity with CAD drawings and with reading structural or fabrication drawings.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable record; ability to travel to projects as assigned.

Responsabilidades

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar and embeds before concrete placement, failed and damaged structures, corroded pipe and tanks, fabricated steel and precast, machine parts, and modular units.
• Control drift on large objects with reference features, tape-measure backbones, and overlapping zones.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, and export to STL, OBJ, E57, and CAD formats.
• Produce deviation color maps, measurement reports, crack maps, pit-depth tables, and anchor bolt coordinate reports against drawings or CAD.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids (STEP/IGES) for reverse engineering and fit-up checks, or hand clean meshes to the modeling team.
• Document capture procedure, equipment settings, and chain of custody on forensic matters.
• Keep the scanner, batteries, and calibration records in order.
• Coordinate access, permits, and safety with superintendents and plant contacts.
• Travel to regional hubs as assigned.
