Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a Network Technician / Fiber Engineer to support and maintain fiber optic and telecommunications network infrastructure across transport and IP networks. This is a hands-on role focusing on troubleshooting, testing, installation, maintenance, and service restoration.

You will work with fiber transport, Ethernet, SONET and IP technologies, perform preventive maintenance, update logs and tickets, and help keep critical infrastructure running.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Network Technician or telecom technician preferred.
• Experience with fiber optics and OTDR testing.
• Knowledge of Ethernet, SONET, and IP networking.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform maintenance and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain fiber optic and telecom network equipment.
• Perform network testing, installation, provisioning, and maintenance activities.
• Support fiber transport, Ethernet, SONET, and IP network technologies.
• Assist with network restoration and outage response.
• Perform preventive maintenance on network and critical infrastructure equipment.
• Maintain inventory, tools, test equipment, and related documentation.
• Update maintenance records, work logs, and trouble tickets.
