Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a Network Technician / Fiber Engineer to support and maintain fiber optic and telecommunications infrastructure in Ohio. This hands-on role involves troubleshooting, fiber testing, equipment installation, maintenance, and service restoration across transport and IP networks.

You will work with fiber transport, Ethernet, SONET and IP technologies, perform preventive maintenance, update logs, and assist during outages.

Qualifications

• Hands-on role requiring troubleshooting of fiber optic telecom equipment.
• Experience with fiber testing and OTDR preferred.
• Ability to perform installation, provisioning and maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain fiber optic and telecom network equipment.
• Perform network testing, installation, provisioning, and maintenance activities.
• Support fiber transport, Ethernet, SONET, and IP network technologies.
• Assist with network restoration and outage response.
• Perform preventive maintenance on network and critical infrastructure equipment.
• Maintain inventory, tools, test equipment, and related documentation.
• Update maintenance records, work logs, and trouble tickets.
