Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a Network Technician / Fiber Engineer to support and maintain fiber optic and telecommunications network infrastructure across transport and IP networks. This hands-on role involves troubleshooting, fiber testing, equipment installation, maintenance, and service restoration.

The ideal candidate will have experience with fiber optics, OTDR testing, and telecom networks, and will be comfortable updating logs, maintaining inventory, and working across critical

Qualifications

• Experience with fiber optic networks and fiber testing.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance and service restoration.
• Familiarity with telecom transport, Ethernet, IP networking and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain fiber optic and telecom network equipment.
• Perform network testing, installation, provisioning, and maintenance activities.
• Support fiber transport, Ethernet, SONET, and IP network technologies.
• Assist with network restoration and outage response.
• Perform preventive maintenance on network and critical infrastructure equipment.
• Maintain inventory, tools, test equipment, and related documentation.
• Update maintenance records, work logs, and trouble tickets.
