Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a Network Technician / Fiber Engineer to support and maintain fiber optic and telecommunications network infrastructure. This hands-on role covers troubleshooting, fiber testing, equipment installation, maintenance, and service restoration across transport and IP networks.

Responsibilities include testing, provisioning, maintenance, and outage response, with emphasis on fiber transport, Ethernet, SONET, and IP networking.

Qualifications

• Hands-on fiber optic and telecom network troubleshooting required.
• Experience with fiber transport, Ethernet, SONET and IP networking preferred.
• Strong ability to perform installation, testing and preventive maintenance on critical telecom infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain fiber optic and telecom network equipment.
• Perform network testing, installation, provisioning, and maintenance activities.
• Support fiber transport, Ethernet, SONET, and IP network technologies.
• Assist with network restoration and outage response.
• Perform preventive maintenance on network and critical infrastructure equipment.
• Maintain inventory, tools, test equipment, and related documentation.
• Update maintenance records, work logs, and trouble tickets.
