Job summary

GCS is seeking a Network Technician / Fiber Engineer to support and maintain fiber optic and telecommunications network infrastructure. This is a hands-on role involving network troubleshooting, fiber testing, equipment installation, maintenance, and service restoration activities across transport and IP network environments.

You will work on fiber transport, Ethernet, SONET, and IP networking, perform preventive maintenance, update logs, and assist with outage response while keeping inventory

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining fiber optic networks and related telecom equipment.
• Familiarity with OTDR testing and fiber troubleshooting.
• Ability to document maintenance records and trouble tickets.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain fiber optic and telecom network equipment.
• Perform network testing, installation, provisioning, and maintenance.
• Support fiber transport, Ethernet, SONET, and IP networks.
• Assist with network restoration and outage response.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on network infrastructure.
• Maintain inventory, tools, and related documentation.
