Hardy Industries is seeking skilled Fiber Testing and Splicing Technicians to support our national client base. This 1099 contractor role covers fiber testing, splicing, OTDR testing, and fault diagnostics across multiple environments.

You will operate independently, travel within an ~80-mile radius from home, and document results using our app-based time/travel tracking. On-site work, occasional after-hours support, and safety are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Fiber optic testing and troubleshooting experience required.
• Experience with OTDRs, power meters, light sources, fiber certification equipment, and visual fault locators.
• Understanding of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic systems.
• Familiarity with structured cabling standards and best practices.
• Ability to read network diagrams, splice schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• At least 1 year of Fiber, I.T., or Telecom experience, and one certification or 5+ years field experience.

Responsabilités

• Perform fiber optic and technical tasks including fusion/mechanical splicing, OTDR testing, and certification.
• Fiber continuity testing, fault-distance identification, and connector inspection/cleaning.
• Patch-cord troubleshooting and fiber jumper replacement; install/terminate/test cabling.
• Identify and troubleshoot customer-premise and network impairments; document results.
• Work independently across retail, medical, restaurant, corporate, telecoms, and data-center sites.
• Maintain professionalism with clients and project stakeholders; travel within territory.
