Job summary

Hardy Industries is seeking skilled Fiber Testing and Splicing Technicians to support a growing national client base. The role involves field work including FTTH and network deployments, OTDR testing, fiber certification, and splice operations across multiple environments.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year in Fiber/IT/Telecom and certification or 5+ years of field experience, with reliable vehicle and tools. This is a contract, on-site position with nationwide opportunities and paid travel time.

Qualifications

• Fiber testing and troubleshooting experience required (field work).
• OTDRs, power meters, light sources, and fiber certification equipment familiarity.
• Understanding of single-mode and multi-mode fiber systems.
• Knowledge of structured cabling standards and best practices.
• Ability to read network diagrams, splice schematics and blueprints; strong documentation.
• At least 1 year of Fiber, IT, or Telecom experience and one of: FOA/CFOT/BICSI/Network+ or 5+ years field experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber optic tasks including splicing (fusion/mechanical).
• Conduct OTDR testing, power meter testing, light source testing, and fiber certification.
• Identify faults via continuity testing and fault-distance methods.
• Inspect, clean, and remediate connectors; replace faulty jumpers.
• Install, terminate, and test single-mode and multi-mode fiber cabling.
• Document test results, splicing records, and project deliverables.
• Work independently in various environments (retail, medical, telecom, data centers).
