Job summary

Hardy Industries is seeking skilled Fiber Testing and Splicing Technicians to support our nationwide client base. This role goes beyond basic testing, involving OTDR certification, fiber link validation, and field troubleshooting across diverse environments.

Ideal candidates bring 1+ year in Fiber/IT/Telecom, certifications OR 5+ years field experience, reliable vehicle, and readiness for on-site travel. You will document results, work independently, and join a team delivering critical

Qualifications

• Fiber optic testing and troubleshooting experience required.
• Experience with OTDRs, power meters, light sources, fiber certification equipment.
• Knowledge of single-mode and multi-mode fiber systems.
• Familiarity with structured cabling standards and best practices.
• Ability to read network diagrams, splice schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• At least 1 year of Fiber, IT, or Telecom experience, and one certification OR 5+ years field experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform fusion and mechanical fiber splicing.
• Conduct OTDR, power meter, light source tests and certify fiber.
• Test fiber continuity and identify faults.
• Inspect, clean, and remediate connectors.
• Troubleshoot patch cords and replace fiber jumpers.
• Install, terminate, and test single-mode and multi-mode cabling.
• Identify and troubleshoot impairments at customer premises and network.
• Document test results, splicing records, and deliverables.
• Work independently across environments (retail, medical, etc.).
• Maintain professionalism with clients and stakeholders.
• Be available for service requests within coverage territory; NOT FULL TIME.
