Job summary

Docomo Pacific is seeking a Fiber Technician I to install, splice, terminate, and maintain our fiber optic and HFC networks across Guam. You will perform testing with OTDRs and related tools, troubleshoot outages, and keep cabling diagrams up to date.

The role requires hands-on problem solving, teamwork, and strong customer service skills, with safety as a priority. A High School Diploma or GED is required, plus familiarity with fiber optics and field equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of telecommunications field experience (implied).
• Strong knowledge of fiber optics; FOA/SCTE or equivalent certifications are a plus.
• Experience with HFC or broadband networks preferred.
• Proficient with fusion splicers, OTDRs, and fiber test equipment.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Must maintain a valid AB Chauffeur’s License.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, terminate, and maintain fiber optic systems.
• Conduct fiber testing using OTDRs, light meters, and related tools.
• Troubleshoot and repair fiber and HFC systems, including Headend equipment.
• Maintain and update cabling documentation and network diagrams.
• Assist in network expansion projects, site surveys, and system upgrades.
• Provide on‑call support and emergency restoration for outages.
• Operate Spectrum Analyzers, MPEG Analyzers, PathTrak.
• Follow all safety standards (OSHA, NEC, FCC, and company guidelines).
• Deliver excellent customer service when interacting with internal teams and external stakeholders.
