Job summary

VT Group (VTG) is seeking a Telecommunications Technician 1 to support Guam-based structured cabling projects, including fiber and copper installations. The role requires knowledge of grounding, bonding, and testing, with experience in Outside Plant operations and cabling termination.

The candidate should have 3 years of related experience, a valid driver's license, and preferably a BICSI Level 2 certification. Local proximity and US citizenship are required for field access on this contract.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of related experience or training.
• Knowledge of database software and MS Office.
• BICSI Level 2 certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees or assists in installation of structured cabling systems (fiber optic and copper) in accordance with codes and local requirements.
• Oversees or assists in building telecommunication closets.
• Maintains grounding and bonding per standards.
• Performs testing and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems (fiber and copper).
• Tests and evaluates installed hardware for efficiency and compatibility.
• Reviews site reports and project status as required by management.
