Job summary

Forged Fiber 37 Services, LLC in Denver, CO is hiring a Fiber Tech II - Splicing Technician to install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable across construction projects. You will work from location at 5375 Zuni St, perform splices, audits, and routine maintenance while adhering to safety standards.

The role requires 2+ years of fiber splicing experience, proficiency with fusion splicers and OTDRs, and the ability to handle physically demanding fieldwork in diverse weather

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to maintain a satisfactory driving record; ability to drive company vehicles safely.
• 2+ years of relevant fiber splicing/telecom outside-plant or related experience (or equivalent training/experience).
• Working knowledge of hand and power tools; proficiency with fusion splicer, OTDR, optical power meter, fiber identifiers, and inspection scope.
• Ability to read and interpret construction prints, splice diagrams, design maps, diagrams/schematics, permits or any other documents and/or work orders; strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with team members, contractors, and multiple agencies.
• Basic computer skills (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word) and ability to use electronic devices for field documentation and work orders.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize work effectively.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and varied terrain.
• Ability to climb and work at elevations exceeding 18 feet and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends, holidays, standby rotation, and accept call-outs as needed.
• Successful completion of employment assessments/interviews and required background screening.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice (single-fiber, multi-fiber, and ribbon) and test fiber optic cable for construction projects.
• Troubleshoot and isolate fiber faults using OTDR, optical power meter, fiber identifiers, scope, and fault finder; send test files/documentation.
• Prepare, install, audit, and repair splice cases/enclosures (aerial, buried, handholes, manholes) across multiple cable types.
• Perform dark fiber, reel, and continuity testing; complete routine repairs to restore service and maintain route integrity.
• Place and test jumpers in cabinets and perform fiber panel/case audits.
• Complete aerial and underground work including manhole work with gas detection/ventilation.
• Read and interpret construction prints, splice diagrams, design maps, diagrams/schematics, permits or related documents.
• Coordinate with construction crews, contractors, and partners to resolve outages and meet schedules; provide field reports.
• Use company devices for work orders, diagnostics, documentation, and communication.
• Follow all quality and safety requirements (OSHA/NESC) and company procedures.
• Learn or perform Optical Line Terminal (OLT) work including test/turnup and repairs for RT/CO facilities.
• Read and interpret As-Builts and project documents.
