Job summary

Forged Fiber is seeking a Fiber Tech II - Splicing Technician to install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables across our network. You will support construction, operations, and emergency restoration, working at industrial locations in Caldwell.

The role requires hands-on splicing skills, tool proficiency, and the ability to read construction diagrams. Travel and outdoor work in all weather are expected as part of the job.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of fiber splicing/telecom outside-plant experience or equivalent training.
• Proficiency with fusion splicer, OTDR, optical power meter and fiber identifiers.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, and test fiber optic cable for construction projects and emergency restoration.
• Troubleshoot faults using OTDR, power meter, and related tools; document results.
• Prepare splice cases/enclosures for aerial or underground infrastructure.
• Perform aerial and underground work, read drawings, and interpret maps and permits.
• Coordinate with crews and engineering teams to resolve outages and meet schedules.
